Force of Nature

Old secrets are surfacing.
So are the ones sent to kill her.

A few months ago I didn’t know magic was real. Now something’s chasing me through it, and it isn’t slowing down.

I’ve survived a fallen star who wanted me dead. I’ve made a sort of peace with the leprechaun. I was starting to think I had a handle on this. Then someone sent an assassin after me, and the question that won’t leave me alone isn’t how to outrun him. It’s who wants me gone badly enough to send him.

The only person left who knows what I can do, and who wants it badly enough to send something like that, is the one who escaped our last fight. Merlin. And now he’s found me.

But the thing that shakes me most isn’t the assassin. It’s that Maria saw it too. Maria, my best friend, who’s supposed to be as oblivious to all of this as I was a year ago, knew exactly where to run, and who to run to, and told me she’d explain later.

If I’m going to survive what’s coming, I’ll have to master a power Connor begs me not to touch, find allies who don’t hand out their secrets freely, and face the possibility that the person I trust most has been keeping the biggest secret of all.
